🚨 Important Update 23.06.25: Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) Availability 🚨

We are receiving a high number of requests about Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) for weight loss. Please note:

🔹 Despite the extensive media coverage, Mounjaro is not currently available anywhere in Greater Manchester — this includes GP practices, hospitals, and specialist weight management services.
🔹 You do not need to contact your GP. If you are eligible, you will be contacted directly when the service becomes available in your area.
🔹 Pilot services may begin in some areas from summer 2025, but a wider rollout will take longer.
🔹 No GP practices in Greater Manchester are authorised to prescribe Mounjaro for weight loss at this time.

To be eligible once the programme begins, patients must:
🔹Have a BMI of 40 or more
AND have four or more of the following conditions:
🔹Type 2 diabetes
🔹High blood pressure
🔹Heart disease (atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease)
🔹Obstructive sleep apnoea
🔹Abnormal blood fats (dyslipidaemia)

If you believe you may be eligible, please ensure we have a recent height and weight recorded by either using our Surgery Pod in reception or booking an appointment with a Nurse.

Trafford General Hospital, Moorside Road, Manchester M41 is open for anyone with minor ailments or acute conditions that cannot wait – patients must call NHS 111 before attending the Urgent Care Centre or Walk-in Centre.

In case of a life-threatening emergency, please dial 999.
